Although my favorite SMAP is Takuya Kimura, Shingo is kind of special for me since we both are Aquarius ;) He's funny, he doesn't mind if he looks silly, Shingo-mama is love, love his voice and his English ;) and if he wants to he can be so so sexy! i.e. the pic above and the icon I'm using (among others)

I haven't seen it yet, because I have too many things to watch and also because there are no subs yet and I really hope there will be some soon, but in Ten to Chi to Matsuoka Masahiro looks incredibly hot (even in costumes) and intense, that I had to share

After watching Itoshi Kimi e, it happened what I was afraid it could happen, I discover Fujiki Naohito. Although I don't like dramatic jdramas I gave it a try and now I'm glad I did.

Checking Naohito's series I found he's done some comedies and I decided to watch one of them: Hotaru no Hikari and I'm loving it so much that now it's in my top ten of favorite jdramas ever.

This is Amemiya Hotaru. She works at an interior design company. She is a beautiful, nice and efficient office woman.

This is Amemiya's buchô (boss), as Amemiya calls him. He's very handsome and nice boss who is having a hard time in his personal life.

Nobody knows that when she arrives home, Amemiya transforms herself into a total different person who only cares about wearing sweatpants and t-shirts, drinking beer, and having her home in total chaos.

Drinking beer like that.

Amemiya's buchô has problems in his marriage. In fact, he's getting a divorce. He leaves his home and goes back to his parent's where right now lives somebody else...

...that somebody else being Amemiya who that previous night decided to sleep under newspaper pages

Buchô is amazed of how different 'Home-Amemiya' is from 'Office-Amemiya'. He is practically disgusted.

She offers him a 2-litres tea bottle a no glass while she drinks beer. That in buchô's book is a 'no-no'.

He wants to be the only one living there and urges Amemiya to leave but she says that she has a contract and that she won't.

When she shows him 'the contract' he's in total dismay. The contract is a piece of paper with some phrases scribbled, similar to these: 'Do you rent me your house?' 'Sure!' 'Forever?' 'Okay!'

Buchô's coworker inquires about how's life in at his parents' but he doesn't say a work, especially about the part of Amemiya living there, with him.

Amemiya is resolved about not leaving and offers him the option of living there together, buchô in what it was his room when he was younger.

Buchô doesn't like the idea very much. Even less when he comes back from work to find the 'living room' turned into a terrible mess.

Just that day he realizes Amemiya has taken home a couple of lunch boxes to have them for dinner.

Next to the lunch boxes he finds one of the elastic bands she uses to tie her hair.

He decides that the way to get rid of Amemiya is turning her contract into pieces and gives her a week to leave.

Amemiya is stressed because of an inauguration she is working on and also for the fact that she has a week to find a place to live.

She sees the chair she is seated at and finds it extremely comfortable and nice designed. She doesn't know that falling asleep on it will get her to be kissed by the chair's designer himself

After that is all confusion since she hasn't been in nothing related to love relationships or similar situations in ages and doesn't really know what to do. Back home she has to tidy things a bit since buchô's wife may come to pay him a visit.

She is so happy (and confussed) about the kiss her coworker gave her that she asks buchô for advice.

Buchô tries to help her but first thing he thinks she must do is change her habits like organizing her beer nicely in the fridge.

Another thing that will make her good is have the house a bit more tidy and clean (he's a lover of pristine places, btw).

But the main problem is with Amemiya herself, buchô says.

However he asks her to live together.

Buchô sounds honest in his decision. He knows she loves the place and doesn't want to leave. Amemiya asks him if he's sure since he said that he didn't want to live with any women.

To that he says that watching her life-style, her outfit, her lack of elegance, she is not a woman anymore. She is a himono-onna. And goes to write some manuals with rules to live together. Poor Amemiya :(

I really like the chemistry between Amemiya and her buchô. Both do a great job. I must confess that when buchô is pretty harsh in words with Amemiya I find him hilarious although I'm a bit sorry for Amemiya who also has a heart, but some of the situations she gets herself into are so funny and ridiculous that at the end is good to have buchô get some sense into her head.

I really love this jdrama and of course I recommend it.

Buchô is pretty harsh with his words and he didn't realize it because he was also being honest with him and with her.

Itoshi Kimi e: cathartic indeed

I got curious about this jdrama after reading dangermousie's posts about it and I started watching (just episode 1).

What does one do when she starts crying in episode 1 already? o.O!

I must confess that it isn't my favorite kind of jdrama. I prefer less dramatic ones, preferibly not related to illnesses and stuff, although you can't have everything -> Security Police, for example. However the inner old girl in me is secretly cheering in ecstasy. I mean: hurting hero, heroine not knowing a thing yet but caring enough for him, a third evil woman!!

I love the ones with comedy and a bit of drama but usually related to honor, pride, keeping promises, fulfilling one's dream or fighting to get what/who you really want, etc.

I'm not saying I'm not enjoying it, because as I've already mentioned, it really got me with all the dramatic fates. I feel sorry for Shunsuke but the one I feel sorry for the most is Shunkuke's mom. Poor woman!

New boys in town

...well, new boys in my LJ anyway ;) and who also own my heart (the part of my heart devoted to that stuff, don't mistake it for the part that is devoted to my boys in real life i.e. mr. ginger and baby ginger, of course ;))

You all know how much I like Takuya Kimura (if you don't know by now... well, are you sure you're being reading my LJ?? where have you been??)

Anyway, he's my favorite among Japanese actors/singer but now he's not alone in my shrine for Japanese actors/singers anymore...

So I thought about making some introductions so you meet them and it doesn't get you by surprise if I start talking non-stop about any (or all) of them (I'm a bit late in most of the cases anyway since I've already started talking about them here and there)

In no particular order because I can't decide ;)

Matsuoka Masahiro a.k.a. Mabo

Right now at 30 Dec. 2007 he's THE one! I love his looks, I love his hair, his expressive eyebrows, his faces (and he has some goofy faces, believe me), I love his voice and his hands but I absolutely adore how he plays drums in TOKIO (such passion!). He looks like he's having so much fun! I'm just starting to know him but oh boy, I love him so much already!

The pic is from Yaoh a 2006 dorama where he plays a host from a night club but he's all honorable and righteous. He looks so hot in suits that the pain it's pretty much unbearable.
I've discovered that he's having a mustache in Manhattan Love Story, which I must watch! I love how he signs Tokio's pvs with 'Mabo' and a drawing so cute!

Tsutsumi Shinichi

What can I say about Tsutsumi san. I think he's a magnificent actor. I love him in drama but also in comedy (I've heard the same happens with Mabo but I haven't seen him in comedy yet).

First time I saw him was in Good Luck! (of course) and his stoic in the outside, hurting in the inside pilot really got me. Now in Security Police his character has some of that but he smiles more and for me he and Ogata Junichi are the perfect team! I really liked him in Yamato Nadeshiko and Koi ni ochitara and I started watching Sailor Fuki To Kikanjû where he plays a low-rank yakuza with a heart. I really love him there!!!!

I find every single thing he's done that I've watched to be really good. He never disappoints me (well although he doesn't get enough screen time, of course ;))

Tanihana Shosuke

I discovered him when I watched Koi Ni Ochitara, enjoying Tsutsumi Shinichi's character (because I have to say this, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi wasn't my cup of tea in that dorama, and I do like him when he is in SMAPxSMAP and all, which made me feel bad for him, but well, that's another issue to talk about some other time). Tanihara san plays one of Tsutsumi's character's employees. One of those that really trust him and believe in him. He was so cute and honorable that got my attention and I really wanted to see him in more things.

Watching him in the SP Deru Toko Demasho! a comedy where he plays a lawyer was a fantastic change and I really love him in comedy. I totally recommend it. If I find the time I really would love to talk about this in a different post.

Okada Junichi

It's SP (Security Police) fault that I've fallen for him. As I've said above, Tsutusmi Shinichi and Okada Junichi are the perfect partners. The boss/subordinate with a deeper link between them because something they share an even in their pasts is too good. The trust Inoue (Okada) has in Ogata (Tsutsumi) and vice versa is what makes the dorama works for me.

The looks and secret communication between them is fantastic. Besides they look pretty great in suits and when the walk together side by side I'm close to reach my melting point ;) *sigh*

A special mention goes to Nagase Tomoya, TOKIO singer, who I haven't seen in any dorama yet, but I'm planning on watching Utahime and what I've seen of him (singing mainly) has already caught my attention for good ;)

... with this guy:

I think he's so hot! Well I thought that the moment I saw him in Music Station (30 Nov where SMAP also sang their Dangan Fighter) but the thing is that he also plays the drums with such passion and artistry that I almost fainted (well not really but I think I did squee *g*)

Anyway, he's Matsuoka Masahiro, drummer of Tokio. I already thought their singer is hot but I didn't want to go there (there meaning exploring the rest of Johnny's bands after I discovered SMAP years ago) because I know myself... and you see, that's too late because I'm already there!!! (I'm not really complaining because I'm having so much fun!!!)

Now I'm crazy about Matsuoka (I think he's also called Mabo and I still haven't found out yet, I'm still not very versed in everything Tokio related but give me time) and in fact with all the band because from the three or four songs I've listened to I love them all!!!

Their lastest single, the one they were playing and singing at Music Station, SEISYuN, is simply amazing. I really love it.

So this is more than anything a warning that probably you'll see more posts about Matsuoka/Tokio because I've been hit ;)

Btw, I'm in the middle of YAOH, a jdrama starring the man himself that I'm loving (because he's a good actor too).

SP (Security Police) episode 8 is so good... that I had to post about it

Oh my! It's bad watching episodes unsubbed but it's even worse when they end in a terrible cliffhanger!! Now I have to wait a week for the next episode! Episode 7 was good but episode 8 is even better. Very, very good. I really enjoyed it! It has cute Inoue/Ogata moments! *dances happy* It's so bad that the series is approaching the last episode... *cries*

I was a bit confussed at the beginning because that's why I was left at the end of episode 7. I didn't know too well what happened with Ogata-san. I didn't know if he'd still be the head of the team or not. It seems he is but for a moment at the beginning of the episode I was worried that all the Inoue's scenes with other SP's meant that they weren't together anymore, until I read (yeah let's call it that) the lines in Japanese and I got that they were explaining how Ogata recruited Inoue.

I've really enjoyed the process of it and how they show us during the episode: I love to see how Ogata observed him from afar and later on has a first interview with him, followed for another one with Ogata's superior.

It gave me the chills when Inoue gets one of his visions as he stares at Ogata's superior. I hated the guy for how he treated Ogata in the first episodes, all nice and all but with a hidden agenda kind of behaviour. After this episode we do know why! Ba***rd!

So the episode ends with some shots and shouts with a black screen simulating a glass being shattered and into the teaser for episode 9. Nice.

The teaser is awfully good. I mean, all protecting the VIP (Prime Minister or ex-Prime Minister not sure here) who got Inoue's parents killed. The guy who actually killed them out of prison, Inoue getting injured protecting the VIP, Ogata noticing blood drops among shattered glass. Inoue face to face with his parents killer...

After becoming member of the team Inoue is introduced to the rest of the team. Once dismissed everybody goes to their desks. I love how she looks Ogata san. It's a mix of adoration and pride. Very cute. I laughed the first time I saw it.

Ogata smiling. This one is worth posting just because of that. This is just when the rest of the team realizes that the 'different' way Inoue has to secure a place and observe people does work and he'll be valuable to the team.

Sorry for posting these two out of order but I kind of hate the scrapbook and can't figure out how to make it work as I want to. Anyway, this is from the moment where Inoue meets Ogata and his boss and his instructor from the academy. He looks Ogata like he's the only one in that room he trusts.

And Ogata returns the gesture sending him a look athat says: You can trust me. Or maybe it's just that they look each other the same way the looked at each other when they were little.

Please make this not be true. Argggh!

Don't you hate when one of your favorite actors ever makes a wrong decision?

I mean one of those times when you watch one of his movies and you keep thinking (even while you're still in the theatre) 'No, (place name here) no, you shouldn't have agreed to this! What were you thinking! You're better than that!!!

That's awful, right? You feel bad for him and wish that this is just one bad choice that won't be repeated...

What happens when it's not the first time and what it's worse: you see it coming the moment you know about his involvement in that let's call it movie lacking another and better word.

All the above mentioned happened to me some hours ago when I read what it's supposed to be (my beloved) Chow Yun-Fat's new project. I promise, I wanted to cry! A live-action adaptation of Dragonball?!?! WFT!!

Hope it's not true. The first source where I found out about it wasn't the most reliable, ohnotheydidnt but they linked it from Hollywood Reporter, so I just don't know.

Birthday wishes!

When I was little, there were a lot of people who used to tell me how having your birthday so close to Christmas was too bad because of the presents and all.

I always answered that I didn't mind at all. In fact, it was great to have presents twice pretty close ;)

I hope catdecember and ickleprince think the same and that they're both having a wonderful time because they truly deserve it!!!

Ladies, hope you're having a great birthday day!!!!

PS I tried talking to Johnny's so they allow SMAP to organize a party for you both, but they didn't even pick up the phone *pout* &$%/$/"(·("=··#@!!!!

Ginger's fangirl obssessions right now they can be reduced to:

1) SP (Security Police) (you see, my previous post).

2) Tsutsumi Shinichi

3) Okada Junichi

I must confess that although I'm in love with SP's two leading actors, all the attention right now goes to Tsutsumi because I'm watching some of his dramas and what can I say, he's a fantastic, fantastic actor! I'm considering re-watching Good Luck! after I finish with the others. Besides, I also ordered some movies (the rest will have to wait for next month) and I can't wait to watch them either.

One thing that I love is that both, Tsutsumi and Okada worked together already before SP in a movie titled Fly, daddy, fly where Tsutsumi plays a salaryman who wants to defend his daughter from a boy that is bullying her at school, and Okada plays a high-school boxing champion who will help him eventually.

I've seen parts of the making of and images from the movie in a couple of MVs I've found and they look so very cute! Here is the MV from the movie:

The song chosen (Europe's 'Superstitious', song I didn't know) maybe is not for everybody's tastes but after listening to it for the first time, I kind of like it. Btw, I've watched the MV several times already!

I'm in love with a dorama again! Finally! Yay me!

Let me introduce you to: SP (which stand for Security Police)

It has ingredients that I love: action, great characters, great music, interesting plots, a couple of partners/heroes that are so cute together that I'd squee for the length of the episodes (more when they appear together on screen).

After the first episode the series was already in the top of my ranking of favorite series. I really hope that the rest of episodes are so good as the ones I've seen (1 and 2 subbed, the rest till 6 unsubbed because I couldn't wait ^_^')

I'm a bit weird when we talk about the doramas I like because my favorites favorites, those that I really like had until now a common element and that was Kimura Takuya as the main character. Among all his work I still consider Good Luck! and Long Vacations the best ones, although I have a soft spot for Pride because it was the first dorama I watched in my life and that is something to remember ;)

I've watched some Korean Dramas, I've tried some Chinese unsuccessfully, but the Japanese ones are my favorite. And I'm fine if they don't have a lot of romance, although I really like some that have.

I like SP because it has action. It's like one of those US series I like like Bones, Life, NCIS or Criminal Minds, etc... It has great main characters with fantastic chemistry between them and for now there is no romance anywhere (although if it decides to appear I wouldn't get mad or anything, but I doubt it will so far).

So far there have been three different cases (one of them remind me a little of Hard Boiled *grin*). There have been fights mainly Inoue against the bad guys, although in episode six there is a fight in an elevator, Inoue and Ogata with two terrorists that was fantastic, probably one of the best moment so far (with one of Ogata in the shooting range).

The story is around a team of the Metropolitan Police in charge of protecting VIPs of the likes of Governors, Prime Minister, people in risk to be killed by terrorists/assassins and that kind of stuff...

Captain Ogata (Tsutsumi Shinichi, who I love since Good Luck!) is the head of this unit of four where the most famous (because he's peculiar) is Inoue (Okada Junichi, know I love from now one too), chosen for the team for Ogata himself because he trusts his instincs.

Inoue's methods of securing the places and observing individuals is different to the ones usually accepted which earns him weird looks and sometimes some scolding from those who don't accept the changes that are needed to face terrorism nowadays while Ogata agress 100% with Inoue.

As I mention above the main reason I like the series is because the two main characters, Ogata and Inoue. Ogata has to deal with the bureaucrats who don't want to accept the fact that terrorism has changed and the units dedicated to the protection of VIPs should adapt themselves to the current situation. He himself renounced to take an exam that would make him go further in his career just to keep being a field agent.

Inoue agrees with him about their methods being old and uses all in this power to kepp with his task of stopping criminals. However it seems Inoue has a secret reason for choosing this job as he career. When he was a little boy his parents were killed in front of him by a terrorist in an attempt on the now former Prime Minister's life.

Spoilers...

Later on we learn that Ogata, a high school student when Inoue's parents were killed, was present at the scene of the killings and saw everything, which makes the link between Ogata and Inoue stronger (what I don't know if Inoue knows that Ogata was there or not, because I saw that in an unsubbed episode *sigh*)

The way Ogata looks at Inoue is that of admiration and trust and the same goes for Inoue toward Ogata. They have some kind of banters (one at the beginning of the first episode) that are so very cute!

The last picture is from one of the moments where Inoue's senses focus in every little detail helping him to find the bad guys ;)

Notice the bad guys with Ogata and Inoue in the elevator. They disguised themselves as Korean and one of them look like Bae Yong Joon from Winter Sonata, I laughed so much when I saw him *grin*

More SPOILERS...
I really like those moments (although we discover that his ability is due to a excesive work of his brain cells which can cause him troubles in his line of work *pout*

Now I've at the edge of my seat because for what I got from the teaser for episode 7 Ogata may be in danger! Arggg!

I've read the series has been picked up for a second season. If that were true...

Btw, the music is great. The instrumental theme for the credits is quite catchy and reminds me of the Spooks theme. The end credits have a new V6 song titled 'Way of life' that is really beautiful!

A quick look at Hero Official Book

I just got my last order from Yesasia:

Protégé with Andy Lau and Daniel Wu, Confessions of Pain with Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Shu Qi, The Postmodern Life of My Aunt with Chow Yun-Fat, For Bad Boys Only with Ekin Cheng, Louis Koo and Shu Qi (for free for getting three Hong Kong dvds, I think), and the most important thing: Hero Official Book.

The book looks great. I'd recommend it if you're a Takuya Kimura fan, but that's just me, who loves books/magazines with Takuya.

I'm thinking about scanning part of the book but didn't have the chance yet. The pics below are just from the first pages so you get an idea of what it has in case you're considering getting it.

There is also an interview with Takuya (+ pics) and another one with Takako Matsu. All text is in Japanese ^_^'

Btw, does anybody know if Hero (the movie) will be released with English subtitles? Is there a date for a dvd release if the answer to the first question is yes?? I can't wait!

Moonlight: Coraline + Versailles + navy silk satin

Somebody should really stop me because I'm having too much fun with this.

I thought because I got the impression watching Moonlight that Josef knew a lot about the early days of Coraline as vampire that would be cool to get flash-backs of both of them back at those times... but I don't think that will happen as soon as I'd like, so...

As I say, I'm having too much fun. I like the result even with its flaws, and I suppose it's because I'm enjoying the process. It's like dressing dolls but digital version ;)

Anyway, in case somebody is curious, I took the dress from The Kyoto Costume Institute's Digital Archive. It's a 'Walking Dress' from 1884. The hat is also from the Kyoto Costume Institute colection but taking from a book by Taschen, from the Icons colection, about Fashion from the XVIII to the XX centuries. The background images is from a google search I did seaching for places I could put Coraline. That is the Glass Gallery in Versailles. There is a small inaccuracy and that is that the dress is from the end of XIX century and the hat is from the beginning of that century. I couldn't find anything better *pout*

I think I haven't said before but I'd be thrilled if any of my manips would inspire ideas for fics or ficlets. If they do, please let me know so I could read them.

Ah, I forgot a version sans hat, because I'm just don't know which I like better. I'd love to find someway to make her hair look more XIX century but I couldn't (for now, since I'm still looking for a way).

I really enjoyed that little scene between Beth and Josef in Moonlight's latest episode... so,

Sophia does wear a black low cut back gown in Underworld because she's going to a party (just in case somebody thought she wasn't wearing any clothes :S)

My intention was making it clear as the Josef/Coraline ones but well, it's not possible atm. It's not perfect but I just can't work on it anymore, at least not tonight, because I'm drained (but I wanted to at least post it). It has textures already included, so that's why it has these black stains here and there. I was working in a header but I haven't finished it either.

The image of Sophia is from Underworld because I think she looks gorgeous there.

I had in mind a Beth (looking more vampire like)/Mick manip but that will have to wait too.

So now I have two Josef/Coraline manip and one Beth/Josef. Do you see any constant there??

It's going to rain!!!

Finally!!! Today and tomorrow (at least)!!

I won't say that 'I'm only happy when it rains' by Garbage is my favorite song, but I really like it, though.

However, the thing is that it's been months since last time it rained and we seriously need it. Just the pollution cloud floating over us is huge and it's affecting a bit in throats, noses and eyes... you see.

Anyway, another reason is because I finally can put on my brand new boots:

Bought at IKEA btw.

ETA It has actually rained since lunch time or so! Yay!
